Client: My Client (An award-winning Florida-based General Contractor)
Location: Project-based, primarily in Florida (Orlando)
Reports to: Director of Operations
Role Summary My client is seeking an on‑site Site Operations Manager to serve as the "field general" for a specific project. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for translating project plans into on‑ground reality. You will be the primary on‑site authority for safety, quality, and scheduling, ensuring the project is executed to the company's award‑winning standards. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can manage all field activities, subcontractors, and site logistics while serving as the key technical liaison between the project management team and design professionals.
Core Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance: Serve as the primary on‑site leader for all safety. This includes implementing safety programs, ensuring 100% OSHA compliance, conducting daily hazard inspections, and managing all incident reporting.
Project Execution & Schedule: Plan, lead, and coordinate all field activities. You will own the project sequencing, manage manpower levels, monitor subcontractor performance, and hold all parties accountable to the project schedule.
Quality Control & Technical Liaison: Act as the key technical liaison between project management, subcontractors, and design teams (architects, engineers). You are responsible for ensuring all work complies with plans and specifications and for resolving any in‑field technical issues.
Field Administration & Cost Management: Manage all site logistics, including materials and equipment. You will be responsible for accurate field‑level record‑keeping, such as coding delivery tickets and verifying time cards, to support project cost controls.
Key Candidate Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a field leadership capacity.
Education: A four‑year construction‑related degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of technical training and extensive field experience.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and quality control. Must be an expert at reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, evaluate, and motivate craft‑level employees and subcontractor teams.
Compliance: Must have a valid driver's license and be able to satisfy all jobsite‑specific badging requirements and background checks.
