Construction Manager
Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering‑led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high‑voltage electrical infrastructure.
Saber is seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to oversee the execution of high voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems. The Construction Manager will lead on‑site construction activities, ensuring safety compliance, quality control, scheduling, and budget adherence from groundbreaking through project completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily field construction operations on high voltage projects (typically 69 kV – 500 kV).
Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, utility clients, and internal project teams to ensure alignment on project scope and deliverables.
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (OSHA, NFPA 70E, and company‑specific standards) to maintain a zero‑incident work environment.
Monitor construction progress against the project schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues to avoid delays.
Review and approve project documentation including work plans, method statements, and QA/QC checklists.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality, compliance with design specifications, and industry codes and standards.
Manage construction budgets and track cost performance to assure delivery within approved budgets.
Lead on‑site meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders for status updates and issue resolution.
Oversee procurement and delivery of construction materials, tools, and equipment necessary for project execution.
Mentor and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and construction crews to maintain productivity and quality.
Perform other job‑related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
7 + years of experience managing construction projects in the high voltage electrical industry.
Strong knowledge of transmission and substation construction practices, codes, and safety regulations.
Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and coordinate complex construction schedules.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and construction documentation tools.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety or industry certifications (PMP, NETA, NFPA) are a plus.
Willingness to travel to job sites and work in varying weather and field conditions.
