Job Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility support.

Utilize behavior management strategies for individuals exhibiting maladaptive behaviors.

Provide emotional and behavioral support while promoting independence.

Implement behavior intervention plans and work collaboratively with a support team.

Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment.

Shift Hours 3rd shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Shift Differential Weekday: $2.25 /hr. Weekend: $3.00 /hr.

Training Requirements All new hires must successfully complete the facility’s Pre-service training program, including Person-Centered Approach techniques, CPR/First Aid Certification, TOVA, medication administration, nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management. Training in behavior management and crisis intervention is available. The Preservice class is 10 days long, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and one day 2 p – 10 p.

Minimum Qualifications

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Dependable, accountable, and reliable.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Ability to work with an integrated team.

Basic computer skills, including keyboard, mouse, and navigating an Electronic Health Record with minimal assistance after training.

Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, providing support during daily personal care, and intervening with aggressive behaviors.

Successful completion of the facility’s Pre-Service training program (CPR, First Aid, medication administration, nutritional management, physical/behavioral management) is required for continued employment.

Ability to work collaboratively with co‑workers, Residential Supervisors, Supervisors, Administrator on Duty, and ID team members.

Additional Considerations

Prior experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities.

Prior experience working with medically fragile individuals.

Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar role.

Demonstrated experience with electronic medical records.
