About the Role This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need.
All SEVTC positions require flexibility to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.
Responsibilities
Work within a person‑centered educational model to provide support, educational/training, and supervision of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Manage staff assignments and ensure all shift tasks are completed efficiently.
Run training programs; administer medications; collect and record pertinent data and complete required documentation.
Contribute to and maintain an environment that supports individual choices, enriches, is homelike, safe, and nurturing for people with disabilities.
Support and instruct individuals in a range of daily living skills including self‑help, personal hygiene, independent living, and social development.
Monitor leisure time, recreational, social activities of choice.
May be supporting individuals receiving emergency stabilization services.
Drive facility vans to transport individuals.
Respond to crises with effective management techniques, ensuring safety for all.
Complete special assignments as directed by supervisors.
Shift Hours 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Shift Differential:
2nd shift weekday: $2.50/hr
Weekend: $3.00/hr
All new hires must successfully complete the facility’s Pre‑service training program for Direct Support Professional Staff, including Person‑Centered Approach techniques, CPR/First Aid Certification, TOVA, medication administration, nutritional management, and physical/behavioral management (12‑day class 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and one day 2:00 p‑10:00 p).
Position numbers 00653, 00240, 00016, 00573, and 00493 will be filled from this posting.
Skills and Experience Required
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Dependable, accountable, and reliable.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Active, valid driver’s license.
Prior experience managing or leading a shift.
Must have ability to work with an integrated team.
Bonus Points If You Have
Prior experience with medication administration.
Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities.
Prior experience working with medically fragile individuals.
Prior experience as a Direct Support Professional, a Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar role.
Demonstrated experience working with electronic medical records.
