Build the Workforce Powering Kelso Industries Kelso Industries is seeking high‑energy, results‑driven Talent Acquisition Specialists – Trade & Craft to help scale our field workforce while flexing into professional and technical recruiting as business needs arise. These roles are critical hiring engines for our operating companies, especially within the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP+) trades, supporting growth across the industry.
Kelso is hiring two Talent Acquisition Specialists – Trade & Craft to support regional hiring needs, one aligned to the Western U.S. and one to the Eastern U.S. Preference will be given to candidates who can sit at Kelso’s corporate headquarters in Draper, UT, as close partnership with the broader Talent Acquisition and HR teams is a key component of the role.
This is a hands‑on role for a recruiter who thrives in fast‑moving environments, excels at sourcing hard‑to‑find talent, and wants to help build scalable recruiting practices that improve speed, quality, and candidate experience across a multi‑company platform. While the primary focus of this role is trade and craft hiring, the Talent Acquisition Partner will also support select professional‑level roles as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Own full‑cycle recruiting for trade, craft, field, and select professional roles—from initial outreach through accepted offer
Design and execute proactive sourcing strategies using job boards, social platforms, referrals, industry networks, and direct outreach
Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and hard‑to‑fill roles across operating companies
Adapt sourcing strategies to local labor markets and candidate behaviors to “meet talent where they are”
Hiring Partnership & Employer Brand Activation
Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, align on hiring priorities, and influence effective hiring decisions
Translate Kelso’s employer value proposition into compelling, market‑relevant job postings and outreach messaging
Activate employer branding at the local and field level through community engagement, career fairs, trade events, and grassroots outreach
Represent Kelso and its operating companies professionally in the market as a trusted hiring partner
Process, Metrics & Candidate Experience
Deliver a best‑in‑class candidate experience through clear communication, efficient scheduling, and consistent follow‑through
Maintain accurate, timely data in Greenhouse to ensure visibility, compliance, and reporting integrity
Track and improve key recruiting metrics including time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness, candidate conversion, and hiring manager satisfaction
Identify process gaps and partner with Talent Acquisition leadership to improve recruiting efficiency and outcomes across the Kelso platform
Hiring Execution & Support
Coordinate interviews, manage offer processes, and support reference checks and pre‑employment screenings
Balance multiple requisitions and shifting priorities while maintaining urgency and quality
Flex into professional, technical, or corporate recruiting needs as business demand requires
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 2–5 years of full‑cycle recruiting experience; experience recruiting trade, craft, construction, industrial, or MEP+ roles strongly preferred
Demonstrated strength in proactive sourcing and pipeline development
Experience using an ATS and sourcing platforms (Greenhouse experience preferred)
Strong partnership mindset with the ability to influence hiring leaders
Highly organized, data‑aware, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment
Willingness to travel locally or regionally for hiring events, job fairs, site visits, and key meetings as needed
Work Location This is a hybrid role with a strong preference for candidates who can work from Kelso’s corporate office in Draper, UT. We work from the office 3 days a week and remote the rest.
Candidates able to sit at or commute to the Draper office will be given preference
Exceptional candidates located within their assigned region (West or East) may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis
Occasional travel within the assigned region is expected for hiring events, operating company visits, and key meetings
