Overview The Asset & Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of the organization's assets and fleet vehicles. The role ensures that company assets are efficiently utilized, maintained in good condition, and comply with relevant regulations while managing fleet operations, including vehicle procurement, maintenance scheduling, fuel management, and driver safety.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement asset management strategies to optimize the use of company resources.
Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the condition and performance of assets.
Recommend upgrades, replacements, or disposals based on asset lifecycle and cost considerations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding asset management.
Maintain accurate records of all company assets, including vehicles, equipment, and other tangible assets.
Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure quality service and competitive pricing.
Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, service providers, and vendors involved in asset and fleet management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in asset management, fleet operations, or a similar role.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent organization, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
Proficiency in asset management software and fleet management systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions The role requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to inclement weather and uneven terrain. Duties include frequent use of hands, arms, and manual dexterity; operating a computer terminal, walking, and coordinating in the field. Occasional lifting and moving of objects of varying weights or shapes may be required.
