Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine mechanical designs for new and existing products.
Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material (BOMs) using CAD software.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet production requirements.
Conduct design analysis, simulations, and testing to validate product performance and reliability.
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal product functionality and durability.
Investigate and resolve design-related issues, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and PDM systems.
Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
Experience with material selection, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Demonstrated proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Hands-on experience with specific manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, welding).
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
Experience conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation techniques.
