Develop and refine product designs and components using CAD software. Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models in accordance with industry standards. Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses. Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure design intent and successful production. Generate and maintain technical documentation, including Bills of Material (BOMs) and specifications. Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs and design changes. Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and FEA tools. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs. Knowledge of material properties and selection for various industrial applications. Ability to apply GD&T principles and interpret complex technical drawings. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software. Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Hands‑on prototyping, testing, or fabrication experience.
