Job Summary The Mechanic/Vehicle Technician Lead will motivate and lead a team of mechanics in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Hours and Wages
Monday‑Friday, 3:00 PM start
$21.00‑$34.00 per hour, based on experience
+$2.00 per hour shift premium
Occasional Saturdays as needed
Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
Duties And Responsibilities
Ability to lead a team of mechanics
Coordinate replacements for routes that have vehicles under repair
Use scan tool and laptop technology
Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
Help maintain an effective and clean work environment
Must have own tools or ability to obtain own tools to complete all job functions
Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills And Abilities
Ability to build, motivate, and lead a high performing team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learn
Education And Experience
At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
3+ years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
Must be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feet
Work environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
Work environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repair
