Grant Accountant
for a respected, mission-driven national nonprofit organization. This is a
full-time, 100% remote, temp-to-hire opportunity , offering the potential for long-term employment based on performance. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Grant Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s finance team by managing post-award grant accounting activities and ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance. This position is responsible for reviewing grant agreements, tracking restricted funds, and maintaining detailed financial records within a highly manual accounting environment. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Competitive hourly pay with temp-to-hire conversion opportunity Fully remote work environment with flexible working hours Health benefits available after 30 days of assignment Mission-driven culture supporting veterans and underserved communities Collaborative, supportive nonprofit finance team RESPONSIBILITIES: Review grant agreements and award documentation to ensure accurate setup and compliance Manage post-award grant budgets, tracking restricted and unrestricted funds Perform revenue recognition and reconcile grant-related accounts Maintain detailed financial records and documentation in a manual accounting environment Support reporting and audits related to grant funding Collaborate with finance team members and stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated nonprofit grant accounting experience (post-award focus) *MUST HAVE* Strong understanding of grant compliance and revenue recognition High attention to detail with comfort working in manual processes Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Hourly pay range of $27.00–$31.00 per hour- DOE Health benefits provided to contractors after 30 days Full-time schedule (40 hours per week) Equipment provided by the client Opportunity to convert to a permanent role based on performance HOW TO APPLY: For immediate consideration, please submit your resume here!
