As a Tax Supervisor, you play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the tax compliance and advisory activities within the firm. Your responsibilities include leading engagements and mentoring junior tax staff, ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax returns, conducting tax research to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations, and identifying opportunities for tax savings or process improvements.
The office is located at 8000 IH-10 West, Suite 1100, San Antonio, TX 78230. This is a hybrid position working three days in the office and two days remote.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review of junior staff returns and preparation of complex tax returns. Assist junior tax staff in gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial information and documents from clients to ensure accurate tax reporting. Develop and train tax staff assigned to your projects and review their work. Assist in tax planning and strategy development. Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate and up-to-date compliance. Communicate effectively with clients to gather needed documents and information. Collaborate with team members to provide comprehensive tax services to clients. Understand and adhere to internal budgets for client projects. Communicate variances and out-of-scope activities to the manager/reviewer. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and contribute to adapting the firm’s practices accordingly. Develop external business relationships (TXCPA etc.) Participate in continuous professional development to enhance tax knowledge and skills. Participate in meetings and training sessions to further develop technical knowledge and professional skills. Pursue CPA or EA certification. Assist with other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced degree preferred CPA or EA certification or actively pursuing CPA/EA license Minimum 4 years tax preparation in public accounting Tax compliance and preparation skills Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future All inquiries are confidential All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, religion, national origin, disability, protected Veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
