We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Senior Accountant to support financial accuracy and operational excellence as our company continues to grow.
Position Overview The Senior Accountant oversees core accounting operations, monthly close, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams including Purchasing, Production, Logistics, and Sales to ensure financial integrity and timely analysis. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, deadline‑driven, and comfortable in a fast‑paced manufacturing/wholesale environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in monthly and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage general ledger accuracy and oversee chart of accounts
Review and reconcile inventory, freight, chargebacks, and cost‑of‑goods‑sold accounts
Support annual audit and tax preparation; coordinate with external auditors
Oversee accounts payable/receivable review and aging analysis
Analyze variances in sales, margins, production costs, and expenses
Maintain internal controls and accounting policy documentation
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow analysis
Evaluate process improvements and implement efficiencies within accounting operations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience; apparel or consumer goods manufacturing experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics/GP)
Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
