as a Prescription Refill Representative in our centralized refill team for a multi-specialty ambulatory care medical group.
Overview Under the direct supervision of a licensed provider, you will review and process prescription refills from phone, fax, and electronic requests following an established medication protocol. You will transmit approvals electronically to pharmacies, contact patients, schedule appointments as necessary, and follow up on prior authorization requests for medical group providers. You will provide excellent customer service to patients, pharmacy personnel, clinical staff, and providers.
Responsibilities
Review and process prescription refills from phone, fax, and electronic requests.
Transmit approvals electronically to pharmacies per protocol.
Contact patients and schedule appointments as needed.
Process and follow up on prior authorization requests for medical group providers.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, pharmacy personnel, clinical staff, and providers.
Required Qualifications
Complete coursework to obtain Pharmacy Technician License.
High School Diploma or GED.
California Pharmacy Technician License upon hire.
1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience in retail pharmacy, refill center, or health plan.
Epic EMR or EHR experience.
