Summary
To obtain information from callers to the agency to gather necessary screening information to direct the caller to the appropriate level of care and to ensure accurate and timely documentation of these contacts into the electronic medical record. Obtain information from callers to Gateway Healthcare Intake line to determine payer-source information by verifying eligibility and coverage limitations with all insurance companies. Demonstrate ability to engage clients and their families in a way that is appropriate to their age, culture, and psychiatric status. Demonstrate working knowledge of admission and/or medical criteria regarding behavioral health services offered by Gateway and/or in the community (IHHCT, PACS, outpatient therapy, Eastman House). Coordinate with PES clinicians around making initial appointments; walk-ins and/or emergency evaluations. Maintain the schedule of appointments for PES clinicians inclusive of initial evaluations; warm hand-offs, therapy appointments and/or clinical assessments and safety evaluations. Assist with provision of insurance information to administrative staff and assist with billing functions as needed; including verifying/researching of current insurance. Direct callers with any current risk factors to speak with a PES clinician to assess for safety; ongoing. May be required to attend conferences and/or trainings as requested. May be required to cross train other members of the department. Will update demographic information in the medical record as indicated to ensure up to date information is captured in the medical record. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma (GED) required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred. Must have at least 2 years verifiable experience in an office environment. Necessary Special Requirements
No professional license required. Valid driver’s license. CPR and First Aid certification. Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
Effectively present information and respond to questions from professionals, managers, clients, family and the general public. Read, analyze and interpret professional journals, policy and procedures and governmental regulations. Write reports and general correspondence. Analyze client and system information, identify problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, develop options and strategies for resolving problems, monitor implementation and evaluate the problem solving process for effectiveness. Deal with several abstract and concrete variables concurrently. Ability to successfully complete all required training and certifications. Oral and written communication skills, including speech, grammar, spelling, and legibility are at sufficient level to ensure effective and appropriate communication. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals either manually or by use of a calculator. Pay Range
