Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to lead our global Accounts Payable function. This critical role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of all vendor payments and expense reimbursements across our international entities. The ideal candidate will be a Workday power‑user with significant experience managing complex global payroll processes and AP operations in a multi‑jurisdictional environment.

Reports to: Director, CPA Assistant Controller. This position is based in New York, NY (Union Square office) and will be required to work onsite.

Responsibilities Global Accounts Payable & Compliance

Oversee the end-to-end global Accounts Payable cycle for all Bullish entities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment runs (ACH, wires, checks) in multiple currencies, including payment in digital assets.

Ensure strict compliance with all relevant local, regional, and international tax regulations and IFRS/GAAP accounting standards.

Manage the AP month‑end and year‑end close processes, including timely and accurate accruals, reconciliations, and reporting for internal and external audits.

Develop, document, and enforce global AP policies and procedures to ensure consistency and strong internal controls across all operations.

Partner closely with Treasury to maintain strong controls around fiat and digital asset movements. Assist with forecasting weekly global disbursements by country by account. Ensure AP payments are executed within established windows.

Coordinate with global team members to ensure timely resolution of matters, requiring strong communication and schedule management across time zones.

Workday and System Management

Serve as subject matter expert for Workday Financials as it relates to Accounts Payable, procurement, and expense management modules.

Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives within the Workday platform to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve data accuracy across all AP processes.

Oversee system maintenance, upgrades, and integration of AP systems with other financial and operational platforms.

International Payroll Management Integration

Act as primary financial liaison with the global Payroll functions, providing oversight and governance for payroll-related disbursements.

Ensure accurate and compliant management of payroll disbursements from bank accounts across multiple international.

Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and ensure appropriate coding and accounting for all payroll-related taxes and withholdings globally.

Team Leadership and Vendor Relations

Lead and manage the global Accounts Payable team, which is outsourced to a third‑party offshore in APAC.

Establish and maintain professional relationships with key global vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve complex invoice, payment, and contract disputes efficiently.

Monitor and report on key AP metrics (e.g., invoice cycle time, Days Payable Outstanding) to identify trends and present actionable recommendations to senior management.

Promote best practices around vendor onboarding, payment scheduling, fraud prevention, and adherence to Treasury‑approved funding processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable, with at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing a high-volume, multi-national AP function.

Mandatory experience managing global AP processes and payroll disbursements across multiple international jurisdictions.

Deep, hands‑on experience with Workday Financials (AP and Expenses modules) in a global company environment.

Expert knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and global tax regulations (e.g., 1099, 1042‑S, VAT/GST compliance).

Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate a geographically dispersed team.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization and external vendors globally.

Experience in the financial services, cryptocurrency, or technology industry is highly preferred.

Compensation Base salary $100,000 – $115,000 plus discretionary annual target bonus and performance incentives.
