POSITION TITLE: General Ledger Accountant
REPORTS TO: Director of Revenue
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
Position Summary I maintain the general ledger's day‑to‑day function and procurement processes, and I coordinate the month‑end closing process with members of the accounting staff.
Essential Functions
Ensure data accuracy when posting to the general ledger daily while maintaining the integrity of the trial balance.
Analyze financial information and assist the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountant with the analysis of general ledger accounts when preparing month‑end financial statements.
Support monthly and annual close processes.
Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files and records, price lists, requisitions, contracts, and orders; locate suppliers, monitor subcontractor performance, calculate order costs, and ensure invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts. Monitor inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping records.
Maintain a chart of accounts; prepare journal entries to post to the general ledger, including expense accounts. Establish procurement strategies for the acquisition, receiving, and tracking of project materials to optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria.
Other Duties
Maintain Petty Cash and Cash Box.
Process Weekly Purchase Orders.
Assist the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountant in developing reports and schedules for year‑end audit.
Backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounting Clerk positions.
All other duties assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications Education: Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Accounting. Experience in maintaining the general ledger, cost analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Clinic hours Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
11 paid holidays per year.
