Payroll Tax Specialist
Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., is seeking an experienced, inspired and mission‑driven Temporary Payroll Tax Specialist to join our growing team!
Location: Walnut Creek, CA (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote).
Employment Type: Temporary (Full‑time).
Seniority Level: Mid‑Senior level.
Compensation Competitive Pay – $25.00–$30.00 per hour. Paid weekly every Friday.

Responsibilities
Completing tax ticket assignment within tracking tool, updates and resolves tickets
Working with ADP to resolve tax notices
Supporting payroll tax operations according to company policies and procedures
Partnering with Sr. Payroll Tax Specialist to resolve escalated tickets
Mail duties
Other duties as assigned
Understand the general principles and practices related to federal and state tax forms
Understand and apply pertinent wage and labor laws where applicable
Have the ability to partner with other departments to resolve outstanding issues
Process, audit, analyze, and review tax records on a weekly basis
Research, analyze, and resolve tax concerns
Required Skills

Data entry skills
Effective communication skills
5+ years of payroll tax processing
PeopleSoft / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System experience
ADP Smart compliance/ADP Run program experience
Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other specialized applications related to the area of assignment
Details oriented and self‑motivated
Advanced Excel skills
Analytical skills
