Carolina PRG is partnering with a well‑known, large organization in the logistics industry on a Temporary Payroll Tax Specialist opportunity. This role will support a high‑volume payroll tax function, assisting with compliance, tax notice resolution, and ongoing payroll tax operations within a complex and fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Complete payroll tax ticket assignments within an internal tracking system, including updating, monitoring, and resolving tickets
Work directly with ADP
to research and resolve payroll tax notices
Support payroll tax operations in accordance with company policies and procedures
Partner with the Senior Payroll Tax Specialist
to resolve escalated or complex tax issues
Perform mail‑related duties associated with payroll tax notices and correspondence
Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax forms
and payroll tax compliance principles
Working knowledge of wage and labor laws
and their impact on payroll tax processing
Ability to partner cross‑functionally to resolve payroll tax issues
Experience processing, auditing, analyzing, and reviewing payroll tax records on a recurring basis
Proven ability to research, analyze, and resolve payroll tax discrepancies
5+ years of payroll tax processing experience
Experience with PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems
Hands‑on experience with ADP SmartCompliance
Advanced Excel
skills and strong analytical capabilities
