JOB SUMMARY The purpose of the Human Resources Generalist position is to maintain and enhance the organization’s Human Resources through functional practice by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resource and company policies, programs, and practices; wage and salary administration; training; employee relations; and compliance: EEO, affirmative action, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Keep apprised and updated on local, state, and national rules and regulations surrounding labor laws and acceptable HR practices; ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws concerning human resources (e.g., Federal and State Minimum Wage Laws, affirmative action, immigration law).

Advise management and employees on legal concerns on a pre‑emptive and reactive basis.

Maintain, enforce, and recommend improvements for company policies, procedures, and processes.

Maintain HRIS records and compile reports from the database.

Participate in onboarding activities, including pre‑employment items, employment agreements, and data entry into HRIS.

Maintain employee confidentiality and protect operations by following organizational standards.

Assist managers with progressive discipline, including training and documentation of events.

Submit employee data reports (turnover, census, EEO).

Administer policies and procedures for a safe workplace in conjunction with risk management staff; report all accidents and injuries.

Assist with employee relations investigations and represent the company at hearings.

Update employment and status change data.

Assist with due diligence and acquisition preparation as requested.

Provide onsite support for HR projects and acquisition needs.

Sort and distribute HR mail.

Coordinate employee events as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully; in some cases, an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or similar; required.

Nationally accredited certificate in Human Resources preferred (e.g., SHRM SCP or CP, HRCI PHR or SPHR).

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements

3‑5 years of Human Resource Generalist experience required.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Basic math skills, customer service experience, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, ability to multitask and resolve conflict, and strong planning and organization skills required.

Communication Skills

Effective reading, writing, and communication in English with employees and customers.

Systems and Software Skills

Computer proficiency and advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience required.

HRIS experience required.

Other Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Compliance with company drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements.

Frequent travel up to 30% required.
