Today, programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy. Position Summary World Relief seeks an Employment Specialist to provide critical services and counsel to refugees and other eligible persons as they search for initial employment or pursue career advancement and job upgrade opportunities. This role helps clients become economically self-sufficient by finding and preparing them for employment, leveraging employer contacts to place them in jobs, counseling on job upgrades and career pathways, and expanding the employer network. This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 9/30/26 and contingent upon funding extension. Role & Responsibilities

Employer Networking and Partnership:

Make connections with new employers to advocate for the hiring of clients in their companies; research new job opportunities at different levels; identify vocational training and career paths to collaborate with case managers; share best practices for finding employment. Client Support and Coordination:

Assist in organizing and delivering job readiness classes and workshops; coordinate employment-related activities; provide support to clients in job search efforts (resume, interview practices, and job applications); maintain regular communication with clients through home visits, phone calls, and office visits. Monitor documents for RSS Employment Guidelines compliance; enter employment information in ClientTrack weekly; maintain detailed case notes; assist clients with letters of recommendation, resumes, and applications; attend scheduled meetings and maintain regular office hours. Provide transportation to interviews, orientations, and initial days of employment as needed; assist with employment forms, drug screening, and securing state documents. Maintain open communication with current employers and report issues to the Program Manager; foster relationships with employers and identify potential new employers; equip clients to conduct independent employment searches; assist with job retention and upward mobility; refer clients to other programs as needed. Job Requirements

Mature and personal Christian faith; committed to World Relief’s mission, vision, and values. Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities; ability to affirm World Relief’s Core Beliefs and related documents. Ability to manage stressful or crisis situations; detail-oriented and organized; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. At least one year of experience in an office environment; ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends; valid driver’s license and good driving record; up to 25% domestic travel required. Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated mature Christian faith and commitment to serving others; love of serving vulnerable communities. Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic, Swahili, Lingala, Farsi, Dari, Pashto) is preferred; cross-cultural experience strongly preferred.
