JR101527The Molecular Biology technician will support ongoing research projects within Dr. Gaye’s lab in the Department of Integrative Genomics and Epidemiology at Meharry Medical College.
This lab investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders using genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic approaches.
The technician will assist in cellular and molecular biology experiments, including but not limited to DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, genotyping, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in functional genomics and multi-omics while gaining hands-on experience in state-of-the-art techniques.Liaise with Principal Investigator and junior researchers to conduct molecular biology experimentsPublish research findings (contribute to writing, and submitting manuscripts for publication)Maintain accurate records of experiments and data in lab notebooks and electronic databasesAssist with training new students and junior researchers in laboratory techniquesMaintain lab inventory and order reagents, chemicals, and consumables as needed# **About Meharry**Meharry Medical College was founded just 11 years after the end of the Civil War with the mission of educating African Americans to serve the underserved.
