Technical Support Specialist – Fusion Equipment
to support our Channel Partners and Customers with expert‑level technical assistance, training, and product support for McElroy equipment.
What You’ll Do
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fusion equipment
Deliver hands‑on technical training for customers and partners on equipment operation and maintenance
Support customer service and training teams with technical expertise
Respond to inbound technical support requests via phone and email
Accurately document all customer interactions using CRM software
Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management on new product and technology testing, design changes and enhancements
Partner with Quality, Sustaining Engineering, and Inspection teams to support warranty and field campaigns, product improvements and reliability initiatives
Actively participate in recurring customer feedback and continuous improvement efforts
Promote a positive, service‑oriented culture across teams and with customers
Maintain safe work habits, good housekeeping, and environmental compliance at all times
Stay current with evolving technology through company training and continued education
Required
High School Diploma
3+ years of hands‑on troubleshooting experience in electro‑hydraulic systems, electrical systems (including CAN), electro‑mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, assembly prints, instructions, and technical documentation
Experience working in a fast‑paced customer service or technical support environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required)
Intermediate PC and software proficiency
Valid Driver’s License and required auto insurance
Ability to secure a personal credit card for business travel (minimum $3,000 limit)
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred / Nice To Have
College degree or industry‑related technical certification
Specialized industry training courses
Bilingual (Spanish) skills
Travel & Physical Requirements
40–60% travel, including occasional weekend travel
Frequent hands‑on demonstrations, customer training, and trade show participation
Ability to lift, transport, and set up equipment weighing 40–80 lbs
Travel via commercial airlines and company, rental, or personal vehicles
Regular vehicle operation between multiple facilities, customer sites, and business locations
