What do our Aquatic Technicians do? The primary purpose of this role is preserving the natural ecological balance of aquatic ecosystems while providing our clients with superior value and expertise. Aquatic Technicians play a key role in protecting our environment and ensuring the health of water bodies and the safety of those who use them.
Responsibilities
Operate a motorboat multiple times throughout the day and attach to assigned vehicle
Treat water for algae, submersed weeds, shoreline weeds, non‑desirable buffer vegetation, and any other unwanted vegetation
Obtain water samples to send to the lab for water quality analysis
Provide superior service and fulfill all company contracts, service orders, and related customer needs
Remove nuisance and invasive vegetation through manual removal efforts (occasionally)
Work with experienced Aquatic Specialists in the field to gain knowledge on servicing aspects of water‑body management
Communicate effectively with customers
Essential Job Functions
Follow established procedures and practices
Commit to all health and safety guidelines
Effective verbal and listening communication skills
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Mechanically inclined (preferred)
Ability to operate trailers and aquatic vessels (preferred)
Knowledge of aquatic vegetation (preferred)
Perform strenuous physical exertion: driving, standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods; use of hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach, and feel
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
1–2 years of experience working independently in an outdoor environment (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Strong written and verbal skills
Availability to work Monday‑Friday and weekends as needed
Valid driver's license from state of residence
Work Conditions
Mostly outside with extreme heat‑above 100°F and/or cold‑below 32°F for more than one hour
Hazardous physical conditions: mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights, scaffolding, chemical exposure, high heat
Atmospheric conditions may affect the respiratory system: fumes, mold, mist, gas, poor ventilation
Exposure to animals and insects
Meet physical requirements and/or pass medical certification per state or federal requirements and company safety policies, including PPE such as an OSHA‑compliant respirator
