Coordinated student enrollment and pathway program for Maritime 253 Skills Center, a regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) center within Tacoma Public Schools and the Port of Tacoma. Expected start date: January 2026. FTE: 1.0 (Full Time). Salary Level: $109,340 - $148,409 DOE. Classified exempt; 260 days; 12‑month. The Coordinator works under the guidance of the administrator to manage program coordination, student enrollment processes, scheduling, data systems, certification tracking, curriculum alignment, compliance reporting, recruitment, outreach, partnership development, performance monitoring, and program evaluation. The role ensures accurate, timely implementation of maritime pathways and equitable access to learning opportunities for all students. Essential Job Functions
Supports development and implementation of district plans for student readiness after high school, including enrollment, scheduling, student data systems and accountability for industry‑recognised certifications. Provides guidance on effective practices for innovative instructional programmes that engage students, support graduation requirements and promote participation through targeted recruitment and counsellor outreach. Collaborates with the Director to implement, monitor and evaluate district programmes aligned with strategic goals, Closing the Achievement Gap, and state and industry standards. Tracks student growth, academic achievement, dual credit participation, work‑based learning and enrollment trends; develops milestones and key performance indicators for programme evaluation. Prepares reports, communication materials and programme documentation for OSPI and other agencies; conducts data analysis to refine programmes and support administrative decision‑making. Maintains accountability systems for programme structures, operational effectiveness and responsiveness; recommends improvements as needed. Ensures curriculum and certification tracking are aligned and compliant with district, state and industry standards; supports culturally responsive teaching and leadership practices. Coordinates district CTE advisory committees and collaborates with business, industry and post‑secondary partners; coordinates inter‑local agreements and FTE reporting. Acts as liaison with sending districts, building administrators and district departments to support enrollment coordination, programme alignment and resource leveraging. Supports student transition planning, including high‑school and beyond plans, internships, cooperative work experiences, apprenticeships, military pathways, mentorship and summer programme logistics. Provides support to principals, counsellors and district staff in developing, improving and aligning innovative programmes with district goals and industry expectations. Other Job Duties
Maintains and updates knowledge and skills necessary for success through professional development activities as needed or assigned; maintains confidentiality. Manages special projects and performs related duties as assigned on a temporary basis. Regular, reliable, predictable attendance or physical presence is essential for performance. Conditions
Requires flexible hours, frequent travel to district and community sites, occasional out‑of‑region travel; may require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds and bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, twisting, climbing or overall mobility. Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or closely related field; four years of increasingly responsible office experience; experience in a school district in a confidential role preferred; communication experience preferred; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and ability. Licences and Special Requirements: Valid Washington driver’s licence and access to personal transportation; fingerprints and successful WSP and FBI background clearance with sexual misconduct clearance; must maintain all licences and certifications as a condition of continued employment. Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing CTE at district, state and federal levels. Knowledge of collaborative problem‑solving methods, grant applications, monitoring processes, fiscal management practices and procedures. Skill in decision‑making, problem‑solving, obtaining, clarifying and exchanging information, creating and presenting reports externally and internally, organising, prioritising and maintaining follow‑through procedures. Ability to learn and interpret federal, state and local laws and regulations governing a variety of grants and programmes. Ability to use problem‑solving analysis and decision‑making skills; develop and monitor budgets; maintain confidentiality; operate personal computer with word processing, spreadsheets and e‑mail; coordinate activities; multitask; demonstrate reliable attendance; participate in a team; create effective teams; establish and maintain working relationships in a multicultural, diverse socio‑economic setting.
