Facility Inpatient Coding Specialist Scion Staffing

is searching for a full‑time remote Facility Inpatient Coding Specialist for an innovative health‑tech company.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Facility Inpatient Coder will review and assign accurate ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS, MS‑DRG, APR‑DRG, POA, and Discharge Status codes to patient records. This role ensures compliance with coding guidelines while collaborating with the coding team to improve outcomes and maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coding and contribute to a supportive and professional team culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review medical records and physician documentation to assign accurate facility inpatient codes

Ensure coding quality and productivity standards are met

Collaborate with coding team to improve coding outcomes

Correct codes as needed to maintain compliance and accuracy

Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned

Support continuous improvement of coding processes and workflows

QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge of medical coding guidelines and systems

Experience with facility inpatient coding (DRG, ICD‑10‑CM, ICD‑10‑PCS)

Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills

Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and policy compliance issues in coding

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Full‑time remote opportunity

Competitive salary of $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
