What You Can Expect In This Role Provide administrative and project support to the legal department staff and business partners, including assistance with calendaring, travel, expense reporting, billing, coordination of meetings and events, research, mail, data entry, and electronic document and matter management.

What You'll Do In This Role

Administrative and project support. Provide administrative and project support to the legal department and/or assigned team on a variety of legal matters. Examples may include, but are not limited to: –Managing individual and department calendars and schedules, making travel arrangements, auditing and submitting expense reports, coordinating meetings and events, distributing mail to the legal department staff at the designated office location, and similar administrative support tasks –Reviewing and auditing invoices, and identifying, investigating, resolving and documenting discrepancies, entering into accounts payable systems, and routing for approval and payment –Tracking and reporting on projects and deliverables, timelines, risks, metrics, and status –Monitoring, auditing, maintaining, and communicating policies and procedures.

Liaison/point of contact. Function as a primary liaison and point of contact for the legal department and/or assigned area regarding a variety of matters. Examples may include, but are not limited to: Document and file storage, retrieval, control, classification, and retention requirements for privileged and non-privileged records, in all classifications and mediums, including but not limited to litigation, contracts, outside counsel engagements, corporate governance, risk, regulatory, and transactional –Information intake from business partners, relaying to the appropriate contact, and facilitating communication

Legal support. Provide assistance and support to assigned attorneys and legal department staff on a variety of legal matters. Examples may include, but are not limited to: –Reviewing and adding notes to basic contracts and providing similar contract-related support –Participating in training and communicating with business regarding business unit and customer questions and issues –Performing basic research on a variety of matters as assigned, such as privacy and cyber‑security issues, life and annuity claims, intellectual property matters, information regulatory requirements and governance, corporate insurance, insurance regulations and requirements, and/or similar matters

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or equivalent

3-5 years' office experience preferred

Up to 3 years' experience in a support role in a professional environment

Experience in supporting internal customers preferred

Experience and basic understanding of financial services products, including annuities and life insurance, preferred

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Proficiency with business software platforms, and the ability to create and maintain documents, reports, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations; Microsoft Office Suite preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Ability to conduct basic research and document findings

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships

Good judgment and decision‑making skills

Acute attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines

Basic understanding of legal and financial services terminology preferred

May be required to travel to a company office or location other than your normal workplace for trainings, meetings, conferences or to support business needs

Salary Range Information USD $54,470.00 - USD $90,783.00 /Yr. Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range is dependent on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired to perform the position. Starting salary is dependent on candidate qualifications and experience. For a narrower salary range specific to your labor market, please inquire.
