Job Purpose To coordinate the day-to-day logistics activities for inbound and outbound transportation; to coordinate payment, collections, and cost containment activities within the Logistics function; to coordinate and maintain off-site inventory activities to assure adherence to all policies and procedures; assist with planning and maintenance of risk management policies.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
Coordinate inventory management at consignment locations by processing reports, reconciling inventory, problem resolution, repurchases, and possible product buybacks. Ensure accurate tracking of inbound and outbound inventory
Participate in establishing and adherence to Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley and corporate requirements
Report and balance all inventory levels weekly while assuring timely and accurate invoicing
Audit invoicing and damage claims issues and take corrective action as necessary to resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate vendor payment processing
Support sales staff in maintaining appropriate inventory levels per the requirements of the customer
Plan, coordinate and dispatch truck and rail freight for various production and offsite locations
Prioritize, communicate and provide administrative support to ensure that orders meet commitments
Proactively resolve day-to-day issues that may impact internal or external customers
Ensure shipments are in compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations and company policies
Audit freight payables information and provide supporting documentation
Input freight rates and assist with database maintenance
Ensure compliance with DOT and AAR regulations
Lead rate request process including negotiation of rates
Provide back up support for other logistics coordinators and team members
Damage and claims facilitation and support
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
Perform other duties as necessary
What do I need to be successful?
2+ years’ previous logistics transportation experience
Load planning or dispatching, customer service, and driver support experience
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Knowledge rail, and truck transport shipping environment
Basic knowledge of logistics and transportation principles
Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of basic accounting principals
Demonstrated knowledge of Inventory Management methods
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Basic project management and prioritization skills
Demonstrated organizational, negotiation, and customer service skills
Ability to operate a computer and supporting software, including AS400
Education
Associates degree in Business or related field desirable
Work Environment
This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule
Must be within a commutable distance to Nashville or willing to relocate to the greater Nashville area
