Gerber Collision & Glass
is one of the largest collision repair companies in North America, with over 1,000 locations and more than 10,000 team members across the United States and Canada. We are looking for an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team and help deliver an exceptional customer experience through meticulous vehicle assessment and repair.
Key Responsibilities
Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
Use cutting tools, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle body sections.
Remove dents, dimples, and other surface damage, applying filler resins when needed.
Realign chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
Replace or repair damaged sections, glass, windshields, and interior parts as required.
Weld and attach parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified or agreed‑upon paint.
Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles to ensure quality.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills and Abilities
Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
Collaborate effectively with other repairers within an auto body shop.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
Proficiency in operating tools required for the trade.
Other Requirements
Work safely in a noisy environment with strong odors.
Lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat as part of repair and inspection tasks.
