Responsibilities
Perform a variety of inspection tasks including but not limited to: receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection (in-process and final inspection can be performed at either the manufacturing site or the cleanroom); Both visual and dimensional inspection
Reads and interprets blueprint drawings and customer specifications.
Uses handheld measuring instruments and other precision measurement equipment to perform inspections.
Data entry, scanning of documentation (records, material and process certifications), and general document control
Performs Product Audits on final packaged products and associated documentation (either for customer or for general work order execution)
Writing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming product Calibration
Creation of inspection reports
Support Quality Activities (including but not limited to: MRB, Returned Good Investigations, Customer Audits, Qualifications, Writing of Procedures)
Contacting customer source inspection and working directly with source inspector
Access to customer portals
Creating certification packages
Reviewing production paperwork, technical drawings, and vendor supplied documentation (Cocas, material test reports, etc.)
Creation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRS)
Testing of raw materials for mechanical and physical properties (Materials Test Lab)
Maintains workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations.
Work in a manner that complies with all site policies and procedures, and actively demonstrates SG principles of conduct & action.
Major Work Area
Inspects incoming materials, customer returned goods and documents in support of Manufacturing and other customer-related processes. Performs in-process and final inspections of company products.
Prepares FAIRS and certification packages for customer shipments
Inputs inspection results into designated databases in accordance with company requirements and scans and maintains records of material and process certificates.
Provides back-up support to Materials Test Lab
Conducts audits of final packaged product and associated documentation to ensure zero defects to the customer.
Required Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years previous work experience in a Quality or Production role, performing inspections and using gauges.
Minimum of 2 years previous work experience in a regulated industry (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical Device)
Ability to use handheld gauges and other measurement devices safely and appropriately.
Must demonstrate knowledge of inspection techniques and familiarity with sampling plans.
Demonstrates proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprint drawings and customer specifications.
Ability to read, understand, translate and clearly communicate customer requirements both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a face‑paced environment
Basic computer proficiency in MS Word/Excel and good math skills.
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Familiarity with using a variety of databases preferred (MRP, Document Control Databases, Access Databases)
