Temporary Support Services Technician (Finance) The County of Riverside's Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) seeks to fill a Temporary Support Services Technician. This is a full-time, temporary position located in Riverside, California.

Work Schedule 9/80 Monday – Friday 7:30 – 4:00, Non-Pay Day Friday off.

Meet the Team The Riverside County Emergency Management Department (EMD) is a public safety department that includes Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (PHEPR), the Riverside County Emergency Medical Services Agency (REMSA) and the Office of Emergency Services (OES) coordinating emergency management and medical services to mitigate, prevent, prepare, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled and semi-skilled work in repair and maintenance of supplies, tools and equipment; maintain records of repairs, minor maintenance projects, items received and issued.

Load and unload freight, supplies and equipment; assist in installation of mobile radio equipment, facsimile machines, and issuance of pagers.

Perform authorized repairs to communication/electronic equipment; support department pager system.

Maintain department inventory records, prepare requisitions, sort and distribute incoming mail, package items for branch offices.

Receive, store and route supplies and equipment to departments throughout the county.

Monitor County buildings and equipment, identify needed repairs or maintenance.

Perform routine cleaning of vents and air ducts.

Perform minor repairs requiring limited tradesman knowledge; prepare work orders.

Service and repair doors, gate locks, latches; move and secure furniture and equipment.

Determine supplies needs and prepare orders.

Perform minor painting tasks.

Perform minor electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, replacing wall receptacles.

Hang pictures, bulletin boards, placards, signs.

Receive, load, unload supplies and equipment from vendor trucks; operate forklift to move pallets; inspect for damage and quantity.

Handle courier routes, inventory bundles to par level, deliver and receive mail, financial paperwork, lab samples, and biohazard mails.

Store stock systematically; keep storeroom orderly; package items for shipping; assemble requisitions; report low stock.

Assemble equipment such as desks, chairs, bookcases.

Provide maintenance and support to the department pager system.

Ensure telephones are cleared; prepare work and repair orders.

Oversee installations, testing, manufacturer’s authorized routine repair and operational requirements of radio transmitters and receivers, phones, pagers.

Monitor cell phone bills; recommend service changes.

Maintain logs and database of supply inventory, equipment, vehicle mileage/maintenance, cellular phones/pagers, purchase orders.

Ensure vehicles are cleaned, properly maintained and supplied; perform minor vehicle maintenance; contact vendors when vehicle servicing is required.

Monitor facility safety and coordinate with Safety Division to ensure compliance with County and State regulations.

Qualifications Experience:

Three to four years of experience in building maintenance and minor repair work; basic techniques of receiving, storing and issuing supplies and materials; basic inventory control.

Knowledge:

Basic techniques of receiving, storing and issuing supplies; inventory control; fill requests from written purchase orders; keep records of receipts; basic arithmetic; terminology of parts and supplies for storeroom or warehouse.

Abilities:

Perform semi-skilled minor maintenance work in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, building plant operations and minor vehicle maintenance; read and write English; interpret plans, drawings, specifications; keep records; follow directions.

Other Requirements License/Certificate:

Possession of a valid California Driver's License; a Class B Driver License may be required.
