Instrumentation & Electrical Technician - Local Join Marathon Petroleum Corporation as an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician and help maintain and troubleshoot critical plant systems across our midstream operations. You will perform installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and system development for motor controls, PLCs, communications, SCADA, and other technical equipment.

Sign-on Bonus $5,000 sign-on bonus paid after 30 days for those that qualify (reach out to a recruiter for eligibility questions).

Position Summary This position will perform installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and system development for all systems including motor controls, distributive controls, PLCs, communications systems such as satellite, cellular, RF systems, SCADA operations maintenance and any other technical issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities

Provide I & E (instrumentation and electrical) support for assigned assets such as natural gas processing plants, pipelines, compressor stations.

Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and calibrate midstream instrumentation such as flow meters, transmitters, sensors, analyzers, data loggers, PLCs, and DCS.

Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as motor control centers, generators, transformers, switches, relays, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, VFDs, PDCs, and UPS.

Configure and program industrial control systems. Perform loop checks, point-to-point verification, and other testing regimes.

Maintain complete, accurate and regulatory-compliant documentation.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Valid driver’s license required.

Must be able to pass drug test and background check.

Must be able to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Skills

Calibration: Perform calibrated instrument calibrations with accuracy and precision in accordance with established procedures.

CMMS: Experience with CMMS software for equipment data management, preventive maintenance, work orders, scheduling, inventory, and asset tracking.

Electrical Network: Knowledge and practical experience with electrical components and the electric transmission and distribution network.

Industrial Control Systems: Practical experience with SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and other control devices.

Industrial Instrumentation Fundamentals: Practical knowledge of instruments used to measure temperature, level, pressure, flow, and related controls.

Safety: Ability to recognize safety hazards and use appropriate controls to mitigate risks.

Wireless Technologies: Knowledge and practical experience with wireless industrial communication technologies.
