California Litigation Attorney (Remote)
Latitude Legal, a flexible legal talent company, is partnering with a boutique IP‑ and litigation‑focused firm to engage an experienced California‑licensed Litigation Attorney on a part‑time, engagement basis. This fully remote role requires approximately 10–20 hours per week, with flexibility as the firm grows its litigation and intellectual property practices.
What You’ll Do
Handle active litigation matters in federal and California state court, focusing on IP‑related disputes (trademark, copyright, unfair competition) and general commercial litigation.
Draft, revise, and file complaints, motions, and substantive pleadings, supporting litigation strategy from early pleadings through resolution.
Manage written discovery, initial disclosures, and document production in both state and federal court with minimal oversight.
Support deposition preparation, motion practice, and trial preparation as cases progress.
Work closely with firm leadership to advance cases day‑to‑day and help support a growing litigation docket.
Provide limited, as‑needed support on trademark‑related matters, while litigation remains the primary focus.
Who You Are
Litigation attorney with 5+ years of experience, capable of running matters independently or with light supervision.
IP litigation experience strongly preferred; strong commercial litigators with interest in IP disputes are encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated strength in legal research, writing, motion practice, and discovery management.
Comfortable handling federal litigation and discovery under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
Organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple matters in a remote, lean firm environment.
Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Outstanding references.

Schedule: Part‑time (10–20 hrs per week)
Location: Remote
Compensation Pay:
The annualized pay for this position ranges from $160,000 to $205,000 when calculated on a full‑time basis. Pay for contract engagements is determined by factors such as work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and candidate preference.
Benefits:
Latitude Engaged Professionals are W2 employees and when working 20 hours per week are eligible for full benefits, including a Qualified 401(k) plan, Group Life, LTD and AD&D, professional liability insurance, a CLE stipend, and a professional expense stipend.
