Exciting Law & Motion Attorney – Landlord/Tenant Opportunity
A legal employer is seeking a skilled Law & Motion Attorney to support its landlord‑tenant litigation team. This role focuses on drafting complex motions, supporting unlawful detainer matters, and assisting with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, experience in civil litigation, and a solid understanding of landlord‑tenant law.
Job Details Base pay range: $100,000 – $170,000 annually
Responsibilities
Draft motions and oppositions for unlawful detainer matters, including demurrers, motions to quash, motions to strike, motions to set aside judgments, motions for new trial, bankruptcy stay relief motions, and federal motions to remand.
Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery.
Draft and negotiate stipulations and settlement agreements.
Prepare cases for trial, including trial briefs, motions in limine, exhibit lists, witness lists, and jury trial documents.
Conduct legal research and provide guidance to clients, colleagues, and staff.
Respond to client inquiries and contribute to strong client relationships.
Assist with occasional court appearances.
Participate in occasional industry‑related events to support visibility and business development.
Required Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing California attorney.
Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures.
Strong legal research and writing skills.
Experience in landlord‑tenant law.
Deposition experience.
Familiarity with Lexis or comparable legal research tools.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range $100,000 – $170,000 annually.
