Job Description L3Harris Technologies, a trusted disruptor in the defense industry, seeks a highly motivated individual for the Procurement function. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to take initiative, deliver exceptional results, and exceed expectations.
The team supports four procurement categories: Metal, Fabrication and Hardware; Electronics and Electromechanical; Aircraft Parts, Equipment, Repair and Overhaul; and IT, Telecom, Software and Services. The position involves strategic procurement and management of a broad range of commodities and services essential to L3Harris’s infrastructure and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Source, negotiate, and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, licenses, subscriptions, and other supplies necessary for organizational operation.
Review proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, select or recommend suppliers, analyze market trends, and follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery and payment.
Compile and analyze statistical data to assess the feasibility of purchases and repairs, determine price objectives, and evaluate bids to achieve the best overall value.
Maintain accurate procurement records and, when required, prepare Request for Proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
Engage with internal and external customers and leadership at all levels, providing clear communication, organizational prioritization, and multitasking capabilities.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to assess procurement needs, secure approvals, and support business goals while ensuring cost‑effectiveness and timely delivery.
Resolve supplier issues related to product defects, rejections, losses, returns, excess shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes, ensuring compliance with anti‑corruption laws and regulations.
Essential Functions
Obtain and maintain a U.S. citizenship‑based DoD security clearance; a current DoD Secret clearance is desired.
Execute the full procurement cycle, from sourcing and negotiation to order fulfillment and supplier performance monitoring.
Maintain stringent supplier qualification and approval processes to ensure compliance with quality and ethical standards.
Effectively negotiate favorable terms, scrutinize supplier operations, and manage contract adherence to deliver cost savings while preserving quality and delivery metrics.
Prepare and issue RFPs and bid documents when necessary, upholding compliance with all relevant laws, including anti‑corruption statutes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Proven experience in SAP and procurement processes.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing long‑term agreements.
Capacity to manage procurement processes with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated problem‑solving using prior experience and in‑depth analysis within the job area.
Effective communicator across departments, explaining procedures and advocating for process improvements.
Goal‑oriented focus on operational outcomes with a moderate impact on departmental results.
Leadership experience overseeing training, project teams, or stakeholder engagement.
