Job Summary :
Genesis Drug Discovery and Development (GD 3 or Company), a member of the Genesis Biotechnology Group, is a fully integrated CRO providing services to support drug discovery programs of our clients from target discovery through GLP tox studies. The GD 3 portfolio includes services for assay development, synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, in vitro ADME, DMPK/in-vivo pharmacology and safety toxicology. GD 3 is currently comprised of seven sister companies globally including BioBlocks, Comparative Biosciences, Ingenio, Invivotek, Integrated Analytical Solutions, PharmOptima, and Venenum Biodesign.
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD-level bioanalytical scientist to join our sister company PharmOptima located in Portage, Michigan. The candidate will oversee a team of bioanalytical scientists and help guide the direction and growth of the company. We are looking for self‑motivated individuals who values working in a team‑oriented environment. Successful candidate will directly contribute to projects within a close‑knit and dynamic setting that focuses on productivity, teamwork, and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
Develop bioanalytical and analytical methods based on LC-MS/MS and HPLC-UV techniques
Qualify and validate bioanalytical and analytical test methods
Effectively summarize results for management and clients
Prepare validation protocols, test methods and reports for non-GLP and GLP purposes
Lead business operation that provides expert bioanalytical, drug metabolism and analytical chemistry services to the pharmaceutical and life science industry
Oversee client management and work with internal staff and BD to ensure high‑quality customer care and service
Oversee the management and maintenance of instrument
Support/assist the scientific team in preparation of study proposals, statements of work and cost estimates for existing and prospective clients
Manage/assist the scientific team in coordinating/scheduling research activities for acquired projects
Work with Scientific Staff to identify, propose and execute capital investments for maintaining and improving laboratory operations
Collaborate with business development/account managers to develop, propose and implement strategies to increase market share and grow revenue for existing services
Explore, propose, and justify new/expanded service capabilities in conjunction with Scientific Staff
Work closely with corporate CSO to facilitate/manage the growth of bioanalytical and drug metabolism assay services.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in analytical chemistry, Biochemistry, or related filed with strong application background
Five plus years of industrial experience in drug discovery/CRO business
Expertise in PK study design, data interpretation, and analysis.
Experience working in a GLP-regulated laboratory setting
Experience working in different modalities, including small molecules, peptides, and biologics
Experience leading a small team is preferred
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, good judgment and ability to communicate with a diverse range of professionals from the drug discovery and development community
