QA Assistant Supervisors
provide support in the supervision, training and development of designated Quality Assurance personnel to assure compliance to all company and customer quality and food safety requirements. In addition, he/she will support the department by covering for team members when needed or required.
Monday-Saturday 2:30pm-1:30am
Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively coaches, trains, and drives performance improvement of designated QA personnel.
Audits Quality daily reports and systems (Sanitation, housekeeping/GMP's, traceability, CQI, and HACCP) for compliance, and reports deviations to Quality Management team for review.
Is responsible for enforcing GMP rules.
Supervises and supports QA team to ensure compliance to corporate specs.
Assists in identifying raw product deficiencies and performance issues; oversees the application of necessary corrective actions.
Coordinates the hold/release program for raw materials, packaging supplies and finished
Expedites disposition on held products and/or materials.
Acts as liaison for plant Kosher program.
Coordinates completion and communication of periodic compliance data to the Corporate Quality Office.
Ensures product specification book is up to date.
Performs special assignments as required and directed (i.e. CQI evaluation).
Provides leadership to the department during the absence of Quality Supervisors or Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned. For example, but not limited to:
Perform batch testing and bulk chemical testing when needed
Perform shelf life, CQI and any project evaluation
Support Pre-op inspection and ATP program
Enter data's in computer and/or customer portal
Follow-up and respond to customer complaint
Perform PSCP line checks, OPRP and CCP line verification check
Report PSCP, ATP, KOI and other data weekly or as needed
Perform chemical and other supply inventory
Review QA line paperwork, raw material sheets and calibration paperwork
Verify and monitor chemical solution expiration
Audit quality folder for compliance, accuracy and up to date data. Report any deviation to supervisor and/or QA manager.
Verify accuracy of Hold, RPQC, HACCP Deviation, SDR, Raw Material log, etc.
Ensure shelflife sample and micro sample are pulled
Support ZLC function on processing floor
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
Demonstrated computer skills (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of quality assurance programs as they relate to food safety, GMP's, HACCP, Sanitation, Pest Control, and compliance to quality systems and customer.
Be proficient in English (oral and written).
Work in a cold, wet environment.
Work overtime, including weekends and holidays as required.
Work hours and shifts dictated by production schedule.
Meeting all attendance requirements.
Capable of meeting required testing frequencies (detailed, fast-paced work).
Other Desired Qualifications/Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Polish
Food industry experience a plus
Experience: Minimum of one year QA experience
Education/Training: High School Diploma (or equivalent)
