Overview Central Southern Construction is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to support our civil construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and control activities, ensuring that materials, workmanship, and construction practices meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage project specific quality control plans
Conduct inspections and testing for soils, asphalt, concrete, utilities, and structural components
Review submittals, material certifications, mix designs, and testing reports
Coordinate with third party testing labs as needed
Identify non conforming work and track corrective actions
Maintain detailed QC documentation, logs, and reports
Support field teams with guidance on quality standards and best practices
Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, and inspectors
Participate in pre construction meetings, progress meetings, and site walkthroughs
Ensure compliance with DOT, municipal, and contract specifications
Qualifications
Experience in civil construction quality control, preferably including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and asphalt
Strong understanding of construction specifications and testing procedures
Ability to read and interpret plans, technical documents, and testing data
Relevant certifications such as ACI, Asphalt Tech, Troxler, or DOT QC credentials preferred
Strong communication, documentation, and problem solving skills
Reliable, detail oriented, and able to work independently in the field
Valid driver's license
