Description Reporting to the Associate Director of Online Distance Education Enrollment Management, the Assistant Director of Online and Distance Education Enrollment Management provides supervision, support, and assistance in a results‑oriented online enrollment operation. Located on our Campus in Bangor, Maine, with hybrid and remote options available based on the employee's location. Within the Online Admissions team, this role is a point of assistance and escalation for Enrollment Counselors and is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, supervisory skills, sound decision making abilities, and dedication to the goals of the University.

Examples of Duties

Collaborate with the Associate Director of Online & Distance Education Enrollment Management to improve the software, systems, policies, and procedures that are utilized to achieve the recruitment targets and objectives.

Support the Associate Director of Online & Distance Education Enrollment Management with oversight of recruitment initiatives and office operations including prospect development, enrollment marketing efforts, technology implementation, and database management.

Evaluate, train, and supervise a team of Enrollment Counselor staff, implementing and reinforcing effective recruitment strategies and policies that meet annual university enrollment goals.

Assist the ADODEE with recruitment planning, communications development, and outreach efforts.

Meet or exceed recruitment goals, which are set annually.

Respond to inquiries regarding applications, admission policies and procedures, financial aid availability and program offerings at Husson University through prompt response to phone calls, text messages and email inquiries.

Provide informational materials and admission counseling services for prospective online students.

Become knowledgeable and articulate about Husson University online and on‑campus graduate programs, market niche, strategies and procedures.

Assist students through all aspects of the admissions process for online and on‑campus graduate programs including the collection, evaluation and distribution of documents and information related to their admissions file using the University’s CRM platform.

Maintain telephone and electronic contact and initiate correspondence with prospective students, including appropriate and consistent follow‑up, including a high call volume schedule to consistently meet performance goals that is consistent with best practices in serving online and post‑traditional students.

Participate in recruitment events and travel, representing the university at graduate and career fairs and conducting on‑site presentations for prospective students and/or advisors, as requested.

Conduct virtual and in‑person informational campus visits for prospective students and their guests, as well as representing the University at events and other functions as requested.

Create and maintain student files using the University’s CRM: SLATE.

Review applicant files and make admission and merit scholarship decisions; academically advise, monitor compliance of application, and enroll first‑time students.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred, with an appreciation for professional and online education experience.

2‑4 years’ experience in higher education admissions and/or recruitment or related higher education experience. Experience working with online programs preferred.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Previous exposure to financial aid policy, regulation and funding sources including federal, state, and private sources preferred.

Previous experience with transfer and non‑traditional undergraduate student populations.

Demonstrates the highest professional demeanor and ethical behavior while representing the institution.

The ability to articulate the value and benefits of a Husson education to a variety of audiences is essential.

Admission staff members are expected to remain current in external market conditions and identify best admission practices.

Ability to work independently as well as establish and maintain collegial relations with other University staff, faculty and students.

Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a close and integrated team of admission professionals.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

A collaborative and transparent approach to problem‑solving.

Supplemental Information PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will regularly speak with prospective students and enrolling students via phone and web conference.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment can become loud at times depending upon the volume of calls.
