Assistant Director for Intersession and Online Program Enrollment
Working under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Online and Intersession Programs, the Assistant Director for Admissions will serve as primary contact for students, parents, high school guidance counselors, educational consultants, and educators. The Assistant Director of Admissions will identify and qualify leads, conduct off-campus meetings, and coordinate area conversion events within an established market area. The position involves tele-counseling activities, and the ability to work a weekly call night and some weekends and some year-round travel
The Assistant Director of Admissions will possess strong communication and organizational skills, an ability to work independently, and collaborate in a professional and confidential manner. Prior experience working in admission, sales, or serving neurodivergent individuals a plus. Bachelor's degree is required. This role demands a teamwork approach, as all three teams within Enrollment Management maintain the content knowledge and a service philosophy to serve all prospective Landmark students well across possible programs of interest. Evening and weekend work is required.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assists in coordinating and implementing operations of the various Intersession (such as on-campus, off-campus, residential and hybrid/remote summer offerings) and LC Online Programs effort to enroll students in a wide range of courses and programs. Duties include recruitment of prospective students, application review, processing of student information, supports new student programming, onboarding, and events related to intersession and online programs. Travel to support operations, initiatives and goals required.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Recruit, interview, and evaluate prospective students for admission and scholarship.
Participate in staff information sharing and training sessions.
Input and maintain appropriate records regarding inquiries and applicants.
Assist with representing the college at conferences, college fairs, regional events, and presentations throughout the year.
Assist with development of recruitment and marketing materials and communications.
Assist the offices of admissions and student affairs to review and maintain onboarding and orientation programs for new students and families enrolled in intersession and online programs.
Participate in all on campus recruiting events.
Contribute to planning, coordinating, and executing recruitment activities to achieve departmental goals and enrollment targets.
Actively participate in campus-wide activities to promote the presence of the intersession and LC Online programs in a variety of venues.
Develop and maintain skills necessary to complete job responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Some admissions experience. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. Ability and willingness to travel and participate in periodic evening and weekend events. Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and public presentation skills), including public speaking, individual interviewing/advising, etc. expected Basic understanding of internal and external relationships, learning differences, and overall recruiting in a private college setting
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
Computer use involving repetitive hand and wrist motion, office desk work and mobile work is required. In addition to seated deskwork there may be additional walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Admission counseling follows a seasonal work schedule. During times of the year, the majority of work is conducted in an office setting. During assigned recruitment travel, a greater majority of responsibilities will take place at high schools, at recruitment events, at conferences, and in a range of public spaces where we encounter prospective students, families, alumni, and educational professionals. Weekend responsibilities include attending open houses, new student registrations, and events of college-wide importance (ex. convocations, graduations, etc.) as well as responding to ad-hoc student needs. Regular call nights to cultivate inquiries at times when prospective students and families are reachable are a key responsibility which can be met using office and online telecommunication tools.
COMPENSATION:
At Landmark College, our compensation philosophy reflects our institutional values, our commitment to fairness and equity, and our role as a transformative educational community. The compensation for the above position is $50,000 to $58,000 annually.
