Responsibilities General Line Product Manager will purchase, price, and market a group of general line products for warehouse and customer sales. The Manager develops and implements sales strategies, new product introductions, promotions, and conducts sales presentations on assigned general line products. They monitor and maintain acceptable inventory levels, turnover, and margins to maximize branch profitability. The Manager solicits direct and warehouse sales on all general line products, works closely with location managers to promote assigned and new products, maintains direct control over replenishment, pricing and inventory, changes prices as necessary, and maintains catalogue price pages. They develop an annual marketing plan incorporating vendor, division, and product promotions, maintain technical product knowledge, evaluate competitive products and new markets, work closely with division merchandising in supplier selection, maintain customer relationships, quote prices, sell additional products, assist operations managers with warehousing, make presentations at dealer meetings, sales meetings, builder shows, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Other duties and responsibilities are performed as assigned.

Qualifications Basic Qualifications

College degree or equivalent work experience in a related job function.

Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion.

Preferred Qualifications

Effective communication skills.

Proficiency in utilizing computer software applications necessary for performing job responsibilities.

Typically more than seven (7) years in the building products industry or general line sales.
