Who We’re Looking For: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) IT executive program is seeking a senior IT Project Manager to coordinate the development and implementation of the agency’s new Online Grant Management System, a Salesforce-based SaaS initiative. This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) requiring strong project management, stakeholder coordination, and technical understanding of SaaS platforms, integrations, and workflow systems.
The IT Project Manager will serve as the central point of contact between the business, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery, quality outcomes, and adoption of the system.
Location: Madison, WI – Hybrid (101 S Webster Street, ~60% remote, 40% in‑office weekly)
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate project activities for the Online Grant Management System, ensuring alignment with business objectives and DNR IT standards
Maintain and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, communication plans, and tracking tools
Facilitate and organize meetings with vendors, DNR IT teams, business stakeholders, and sponsors
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, scheduling, communication, tester coordination, and issue tracking
Monitor project progress, dependencies, risks, and issues; implement mitigation strategies and elevate when needed
Ensure project deliverables meet quality, security, and compliance standards
Coordinate cross‑team activities for data migration, integrations, environment planning, training, and go‑live readiness
Maintain project documentation, action items, risks, issues, change controls, and decision logs
Provide timely status updates to leadership, sponsors, and oversight groups
Support project closeout, including lessons learned, operational transition, and final reporting
Qualifications:
5‑10+ years of advanced experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall) and tools
5‑10+ years of direct experience managing large‑scale IT projects, including vendor coordination, SaaS configuration, integrations, and data migration
5‑10+ years of experience in facilitating and coordinating meetings, aligning stakeholders, driving decisions, and maintaining project momentum
5‑10+ years of experience coordinating testing activities, including UAT planning, issue tracking, communication, and tester engagement
5‑10+ years of experience with SaaS, CRM, or workflow‑based systems; Salesforce experience preferred
Experience collaborating with technical teams on system design, API integrations, security considerations, and platform constraints
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills for engaging users, sponsors, vendors, and technical staff
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, maintain scope, and deliver projects successfully
Experience developing training materials and supporting end‑user adoption
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with Salesforce implementations, grant management systems, or other low‑code/no‑code ecosystems
Experience in government or public‑sector IT environments
Knowledge of DevOps practices, integration patterns, and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Salesforce sandboxes

Pay Range Codeworks, LLC discloses that the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $45 and $55. This range is subject to change based on job‑related factors, including client requirements where applicable.
