Reporting Structure This position reports to the Service Manager.
Division Overview ABB Smart Power delivers energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure, and commercial buildings. Technical teams partner with industry partners to deliver advanced solutions supporting rapid growth, energy transition, and sustainability. The portfolio includes industrial circuit breakers, low voltage systems, motor starting applications, safety devices, UPS solutions, and the ABB Ability Energy Manager platform.
Key Responsibilities
Specialize in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical power systems including UPS, PDU, STS, and related systems.
Ensure continuous, reliable operation of mission critical infrastructure for data centers, hospitals, telecommunications, and other environments requiring uninterrupted power.
Perform service tasks, identify technical problems, and conduct analysis through remote or onsite activities across service categories (installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades, retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.).
Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing service work per orders and expectations, building relationships, understanding needs, and communicating new sales opportunities internally.
Coordinate, prepare, and ensure materials, parts, and equipment are available and meet quality standards for service activities.
Proactively identify potential equipment failures and request corrective actions. Troubleshoot failures and make recommendations to prevent future issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology with 4+ years servicing critical power equipment, or Associate's degree with 6+ years, or High School Diploma or GED with equivalent 8 years experience.
Electrical licenses or certifications (Journeyman Electrician, NICET, NFPA70E, OSHA 10 or 30).
Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing critical power systems (UPS, PDU, STS, etc.).
Advanced ability to write test plans, scope of work, and detailed test reports.
Valid U.S. driver's license.
Prior work authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.
