The Service Manager will lead service operations, manage staff performance, and ensure contractual commitments are met efficiently and profitably. This role is critical in aligning field operations, labor utilization, and project execution with gross profit objectives and high-quality standards for a commercial HVAC service company.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day and long-term planning of service operations and project execution
Lead staff management including scheduling, training, performance reviews, and recruiting
Monitor and analyze financial performance reports to ensure profitability goals are met
Direct project scheduling, billing, invoicing, and material procurement processes
Coordinate with internal teams and customers to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction
Identify operational gaps and implement improvements in policies, systems, and training
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, service agreements, and project management
Proven leadership experience with ability to motivate and manage teams
Excellent planning, time management, and financial analysis skills
Working knowledge of industry standards, codes, and service operations best practices
Ability to manage documentation, cash flow, scheduling, and labor forecasting
Previous experience in technical operations, dispatch coordination, or maintenance services preferred
