Meta is seeking a Data Center Facility Technical Manager to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers.
Base pay range $161,000.00/yr - $223,000.00/yr
The Facility Technical Manager will build and manage a broad team of subject matter experts including electrical, mechanical, building controls, project management, generator, maintenance, and EHS. This person will be experienced in an array of broad technical subjects such as electrical distribution, mechanical cooling technologies, fire/life safety systems, and building automation controls.
Responsibilities
Lead a team consisting of subject matter experts in the areas of Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Generator and Environmental, Health, Safety, Project Management, and Operations/Maintenance.
Lead the team in providing technical solutions to operational challenges at the data center campus, including unexpected system responses, design issues, and equipment failures.
Lead the team in providing maintenance planning, process workflows, document management, and safety programs to the Critical Operations teams.
Report directly to the Data Center Campus Facility Manager and provide direction on technical functions affecting the campus infrastructure.
Establish team goals and prioritize resources to support Facility Operations priorities.
Provide mentorship and people management, supporting career growth and performance feedback.
Work with stakeholders to develop and implement operational improvement projects aligned with budget priorities.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Critical Operations Managers and Facility Support Lead to budget and prioritize work across the campus.
Ensure team members collaborate with other cross‑functional teams to investigate technical issues and develop solutions throughout the lifecycle of the data center, from startup through commissioning, modernization, and obsolescence.
Coordinate and improve maintenance planning and process development programs.
Provide support and technical expertise on facility retrofit and modernization projects.
Work with recruiting to hire, interview, and select candidates for open positions.
Travel up to 5‑10% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of technical experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls systems, or a four‑year technical degree such as engineering with 6+ years experience.
5+ years of experience building, managing, and coordinating technical teams.
General knowledge of applicable regulatory codes and standards.
Experience communicating and presenting technical material effectively.
Technical knowledge of complex systems such as Building Electrical, Emergency Generators, UPS, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire/Life Safety, Building Automation, PLC, DDC, and related control systems.
Experience troubleshooting complex problems and addressing root causes by analyzing data.
Proven time‑management, organization, and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
12+ years of experience leading managers and technical teams.
7+ years of experience building, managing, and coordinating technical teams.
Four‑year technical degree such as engineering.
Experience in Data Center or other Critical Facilities.
Knowledge and experience in Construction and/or Project Management of capital projects.
Experience managing maintenance or continuous improvement programs.
Experience leading building controls and automation projects.
