A Project Manager, Federal Sales at Vertiv will lead cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end customer projects and programs, ensuring a seamless experience from order entry through post‑sales support. The role focuses on communication, stakeholder ownership, and program execution, building strong relationships with federal stakeholders, partners, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Deliver proactive project and program management that drives customer engagement, loyalty, and repeat business.

Build and maintain relationships with key U.S. government stakeholders, Federal Systems Integrators, National Resellers, and Channel Partners.

Act as the primary contact for the client (in partnership with Sales Leaders/Account Directors), ensuring clear communication of expectations and needs.

Collaborate with sales account managers to align on customer expectations and execution.

Lead end‑to‑end project activities, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of order entry, product delivery, site deployments, and technical development.

Oversee customer engagement aspects such as program strategy, milestones, and deliverables.

Coordinate across internal functions (support sales, service, on‑site service, factory, quality, operations) to streamline customer interactions.

Develop and maintain a RACI matrix to clarify roles and responsibilities.

Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies; monitor progress and resolve issues promptly.

Escalate critical issues to ensure timely resolution and stakeholder communication.

Manage post‑sales support activities, liaising with Sales, Service, factories, and Lines of Business, while continuously seeking improvement opportunities.

Document meeting notes, action items, and follow‑through to completion.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or equivalent experience.

4+ years of project management experience with proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.

Strong leadership and cross‑functional team motivation skills.

Excellent communication skills, including effective meeting conduct and presentations.

Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and solve problems proactively.

Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience managing stakeholders in a matrixed environment.

Strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.

Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

Prior experience in the Data Center industry and knowledge of power and thermal products.

Federal security clearance (desired).

Previous sales experience.

Knowledge of Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and quality.

Construction management experience, including electrical and mechanical contracting.

Understanding of engineering, operations, manufacturing processes, and commissioning.

Physical & Environmental Demands

Standard office environment; full‑time office work required.

Time Travel Required

20% domestic and international travel.
