The Millwork Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing custom millwork projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are executed efficiently, within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in custom millwork manufacturing, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate between clients, designers, engineers, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination
Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and scope.
Coordinate with clients, architects, designers, and contractors to define project requirements.
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure project accuracy.
Production & Installation Oversight
Work closely with production teams to ensure materials, fabrication, and installation meet project specifications.
Conduct site visits to oversee installation and resolve any on-site challenges.
Maintain quality control throughout the manufacturing and installation process.
Budget & Cost Management
Track project costs and ensure profitability.
Obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and coordinate material procurement.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Communication & Client Relations
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
Provide project updates and reports to clients and senior management.
Address and resolve any client concerns or project issues.
Team Leadership & Coordination
Work closely with estimators, drafters, and shop personnel to align project goals.
Ensure all team members are clear on project objectives and deadlines.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills Experience
3–5+ years of project management experience in the millwork, cabinetry, or woodworking industry.
Strong knowledge of millwork manufacturing processes, materials, and installation techniques.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and millwork drawings.
Familiarity with project management software and AutoCAD (or similar drafting software).
Soft Skills
Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
PMP or equivalent certification (a plus).
Work Environment & Compensation Work is typically a mix of office, production facility, and job site visits.
