Description We are looking for a Manager for Radiation Oncology to oversee operational planning, policy implementation, performance improvement, staffing, budgeting, data analytics, and community engagement within MercyOne's Oncology Service Line.

Essential Functions

Develops an annual operational plan integrated with Mercy’s strategic plan and related departments’ operational plans to efficiently provide services.

Develops, implements and periodically reviews all policies and procedures that guide and support the assigned services, including Joint Commission requirements, The American College of Radiology, federal and state regulations, and cancer service line metrics.

Continuously assesses and improves the department’s performance based on quality plan monitors, patient outcomes, safety checks, and customer/employee satisfaction data.

Develops and maintains departmental staffing plan for all supervised departments, detailing appropriate employee classifications and qualifications consistent with the operational plan, projected volumes, and other indicators; participates in HR planning and recruitment.

Oversees and mentors department supervisors.

Develops annual operating and capital budgets, monitors and analyzes performance and productivity, and implements corrective plans; collaborates with other departments on budget preparation.

Maintains key data analytics used for planning, regulatory, and business decision making.

Serves on organizational and community committees or organizations as needed and represents Mercy Medical Center at cancer-related functions.

Works closely with MCCRO, Medical Director and persons in the Cancer Service Line.

Supports and abides by all Mercy policies, including safety policies and practices.

Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, other hospital departments and others.

Participates in marketing strategies to promote new or existing services.

Remains current in legislative and regulatory changes, participating and providing leadership in creating changes to improve community health.

Pursues new concepts in Radiation Oncology and management practice; mentors and coaches management and staff through change.

Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Oncology Service Line Director.

Facilitates work on electronic health records within Clinic and integration with other networks and departments as appropriate.

Collaborates with CHI National Oncology Service Line on special projects and initiatives.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

Experienced in radiation therapy, medical physics, radiation safety, imaging and/or medical dosimetry.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Prior management experience required.

Excellent communication skills required.
