Job Description The Shipping Administrator plays a vital role in supporting daily shipping operations and coordinating communication between manufacturing, logistics, and transportation partners. This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties, forecasting shipping needs based on production schedules, and ensuring timely, accurate documentation of all shipments.
Responsibilities
Forecast production schedules based on sales demands to align with shipping and manufacturing needs.
Perform general clerical duties including typing, printing, scanning, and maintaining accurate records both manually and electronically.
Track and monitor current and past shipments to ensure precise documentation and inventory accuracy.
Communicate professionally with carriers and drivers via phone and email to schedule pickups and respond to inquiries regarding loads.
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with production, warehouse, and sales teams to support business objectives.
Process shipments through Trans4m, utilizing multiple software systems to fulfill sales obligations and support just-in-time manufacturing (including BOL and label processing).
Analyze data and evaluate results to identify and implement effective solutions to logistical challenges.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the logistics and manufacturing teams.
