Brewing Supervisor – Breinigsville, PA
Brewing Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned shift to include safety, quality, efficiency, process execution, and team development. The position is responsible for in specification performance of all product streams at Boston Beer and complete supervision of hourly staff. Supervises production operation in accordance with brewery policies and procedures. Also responsible for the development and maintenance of a system to ensure that all brewing products manufactured by the Brewery meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels. Supervisor position will rotate through all shifts on a periodic schedule.
What You’ll Brew People Development & Leadership:
Strong floor presence and employee-engaging leadership style
Demonstrate passion and enthusiastically support and drive a high-performance team environment through highly motivated, collaborative, engaged operators and leads
Direct Operators to perform required tasks to ensure quality brewing and blending of product
Lead preparation and delivery of employee evaluation process and ensure alignment within the spirit of the performance management program, including new hire evaluations
Oversee and lead operator training and development plans and initiatives
Work with and coach employees to improve performance and close performance issues or gaps, including monthly 1:1 reviews
Process Adherence & Process Ownership
Report, investigate and ensure accurate communication of incidents and work-related injuries
Responsible for shift schedule to include: workstation assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations
Ensure that employees assigned to your areas of responsibility have verifiable training and follow all Safety policies required for the processing. Observe workers and evaluate job activities to determine correct use of process and prescribed safety equipment
Ability to become certified in CPR and First Aid and Forklift Operation
Perform audits to ensure consistency/repeatability and help facilitate flavor agreement across the multi-plant system, audits to include process, formulation, and sanitation practices
Monitoring of QA data and reporting and amends/adjusts process and formulation as needed for specification adherence
Participates in daily taste panel to evaluate adherence to quality specification and flavor agreement
Recommends to Brewing Manager and/or makes improvements to machinery, equipment, processes and facilities affecting quality, efficiency or GMPs in the department. Partner with the maintenance team in planning and managing maintenance items that require downtime, line breaks, or other coordination from the brewing department
Manages an effective safety program, assures all employees are fully trained and continually monitors employees to verify that all safety policies and procedures are in compliance
Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment

Physical Demands
All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s)
Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces
Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platforms
Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat)
Established dexterity so you can handle materials, operate equipment and interface with computer systems with precision
Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repetitively throughout the shift.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to endure on a daily basis, walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, and crouching.
Communicate with coworkers by phone and radio. Must carry radio as required.
Level 7. At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $60,600 and $111,900. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
