Quality Control Inspector

Type of Position: Part Time (6-month assignment)
Job Location: Memphis, TN 38133
Purpose of Job: Temp part-time position 6-MONTH ASSIGNMENT
Performs inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of partially assembled or finished medical devices in controlled environment. Must be able to comply with all FDA GMPs, ISO, and corporate quality systems, company rules, policies, and procedures and adhere to safety and cleanliness in the workplace.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Perform incoming and receiving inspection of raw materials, sub‑assemblies or finished company products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical, and/or electrical measurements. Exercises special care to ensure equipment is functioning correctly to detect any out of tolerance dimensions.
Accurately documents the results of inspections and testing.
Conduct First and Last piece Inspection of components or finished devices and accurately document results.
Disposition product as Accepted or initiates Nonconformance Reports.
Assists manufacturing with tooling by inspecting new and reworked production tooling.
Other duties as may be assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
Minimum two years of experience in quality control or manufacturing. Medical device experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Physical – Requires walking/standing approximately 5% of time; sitting approximately 95% of time; lifting up to 50 lbs. approximately 15% of time; stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.
Environmental – Requires capability of performing essential job functions in an office/lab environment with climate-control and good lighting.
Manual Dexterity – Requires use of hands and arms to operate telephones, facsimile machines, computers and other general office equipment, lab equipment, and to record written information and maintain files.
Audible – Requires the ability to verbally communicate with supervisor and co‑workers in person and via telephone.
